Yes, one time a fellow site member with an F1 said 15 degrees was good for him. So the range is now from 11 to 15 degrees. But drooped from where? Engine on the "level"?
I simply try to aim the swingarm so that a straight line passes just above the timing sight glass on a Pantah side cover, maybe a bit more. But what happens up front (fork setup) must matter too in the overall scheme? I'll bet Troy Bayliss would ride with any of these measurements.

Good morning everyone, I've always based my calculations on the swingarm pivot height, with the bike on the ground, being about 40-41 cm from the ground. The rear shock seems too long to me. You can ride with a loose spring, but under acceleration the swingarm will tend to open up and extend, preventing the hydraulics from working. I hope the translator does its job. I think so.

Hey Mike....Would the longer shock not load up the front end, which in turn may require a longer fork to get the desired front to back weight distribution? Flattop

That is what it really looks like from a better photo angle. This is a good start. A fully loaded bike on the ground will settle the issue. Yes, the forks play a part in this, and they are over 31 inches long from axle centers to the caps. And it will have 18 inch wheels front and rear. The longer shock is really needed because of the placement of the top mounting bracket more forward than most. Never thought this would get so much attention. MikeV

Hey Mike, when you reach a certain age...I'm talking about my age, you start pissing off people who work, like retirees do, who go to watch construction sites and insistently shake their heads and tell the workers that it's not okay at all!!!! In Italy, often the excavator driver digs a hole and buries the retiree under a sewer pipe...you could do the same to us!! You have my permission!!! Hi, my friend.

So here are the new 83mm pistons (2mm overbore now allowed by AHRMA) i will use with the 58mm crank, for a displacement of 628cc. I have chosen that size because i believe this bike would be judged as a TT2, not a stock Pantah, because of the light NCR frame. I think that claim did not work for Leoni and Adamo in the 1980s. And the 58mm crank is lightened, polished, and balanced by Ben Fox (RIP), so i want to use it appropriately. Who knows - race tech can be arbitrary, and even written rules unclear. Now to get some cylinders bored and finished to 83mm. Off to Millennium Technologies; another good company. MikeV Attachment:

Your garage must be like Ali Baba's cave... I'd love that frame for my fiberglass kit
