I have decided that since i damaged the V head on this nice set, and then repaired (welded up), and then replaced the valves, seats, and guides on both heads, that i should suffer the results. So these are for this engine. I have used “timeserts”, and “nutserts” (thanks to Lou’s post), but here is one thing i have never done before - put in helicoils. The threads on both heads were a bit “tired”, but especially on the V head, so i have just survived this task. One concern i always have about tapping parts for threads is getting the hole perpendicular to the surface. I found this 22mm Guzzi wristpin (where did that come from?), which fit perfectly inside the small bore for the plug, served as a nice guide to help with that. But the pile of tools still amazed me.
And now i can re-assemble these, and wait for the rebored and replated cylinders to arrive.
