So I was in Adria too, I meet Carlo and see his beautiful, and fast bike. With the new 36 dell'orto carbs I gain 1000 revs and now I can reach 9500 r easily. I can also take the engine at 10.000 but I prefer to remain on a safety range. L87yc Champion sparks and needle at the lower setup. I gain in speed and acceleration, and I feel very good with the bike    I just finished the race in 8th position on 13, but with the 4th at just 1 second far. Ciao Filippo |

Hi Ducadini and thanks for the link. The season is on the summer stop, so is time for same jobs. I get an Elefant oil cooler and now trying to fit it on the fairing of my bike. i just set the line from the oil pump to the cooler, need to do the return line from the cooler to the block: without drilling or milling any parts could be an alternative to use the oil filler hole on the right carter to enter in? of course in this case i need a dedicated cap. this have any sense? ciao Filippo

Hello Filippo. Please show us where the line comes out of the engine (clutch cover?) first. You need to be careful about where you put the line back in, but I do not think the filler is good, and I have never seen that done. The better way is to put it back into the end of the crank since you may have taken some from it at the oil pump. That will require tapping into the cover (again?). And, the passage inside the cover from the pump to the crank should be blocked or there will be some confusion/conflict about which way the oil is flowing. I will stop here, because I am sure others have even more knowledge than me. There are many ways to do this, but some are probably wrong! I recently saw a photo posted here of a partial bike for sale, and the routing of the oil lines was "puzzling", even troublesome to me. But not knowing what was done inside it might have been OK. Sorry, I did not stop, kept pecking away here. Now more: You did not mention separate lines to the cam end caps. That is another "can of worms", but will certainly require disassembling the top of the engine. Wait till winter if you are doing that. Go racing. I remembered that Pat Slinn said Shell Oil told him the oil temperature on the 1981 Isle of Man-winning F2 Pantah (#8) was fine, and they did not need a cooler!
