The exhaust RHS 2 -1 below has a stamp that says NCR. There are more pictures of the bike on the Internet that have close ups.

Now a segway to something else... ;)

The bike in the picture has a Verlicchi TT2 Pantah style chassis. The owner of this bike wants US$40k for it. He likes to describe it as having been made by NCR... (probably because the exhaust is stamped NCR) but basically it is a kit bike, and a nice one at that. Perhaps worth $10K?

Here is the same chassis wrapped with Allazurra body work. Reno Leoni and Jimmi Adamo.

You can get a similar kit from Two Wheel Classics in the UK.

Really nice machines. I hope I have this right. The frame that Reno and Jimmy have is a DM framed Ally. It was a very formidable machine with the ability to be twin or mono shock, both mounts included. The motor had twin plug heads and an NCR dry clutch. Pete Johnson would later take this same bike and win a championship (right Cranky?). The pipe that went under the motor was a prototype Supertrapp. Don't know if it worked that well. The NCR framed bike is mono shock only. It was available as a kit in the NCR catalog. Very light weight. The motor mounts are machined spools instead of just stamped steel and it has more bracing as well as being chrome/moly. Really beautifully made. Some of our Forum mates are building these up. Steve D'angelo has a DM model and Mike V has an NCR. Can't wait to see these done. As far as the one that is appearing on ebay, I agree, it was probably a kit, but it is nice that he has the NCR pipe and strangely the tank is aluminum, I thought they were fiberglass. The upper fairing looks funny cut away without the lower, personally I like it with the lower like in the picture from NCR. I think one of our many craftsmen on the Forum, Paul Huit, made a few of the seat tank kits for these frames. Lou

Hi Lou.

My project is not very ambitious, the laws in my country do not allow too many changes to street bikes.
The base is a Pantah 600, engine 650.
Tank and Seat, thanks to our friend Paul Hewitt ;)
upper fairing, very similar.. bought in Italy, requires some modifications.
For the front fender in wheel 18 "..I have not found alternatives in the market and I've made myself.

It's what's for now!! :)..... and waiting to find someone who makes or sells the exhaust.

Regards

A pattern 2:1 exhaust was made by BUB in California (?) for a limited time. I had one on an Alazzurra thought it was very good but loud. I suspect anything new will have to be custom built since demand was tiny even in 1987.

ALSO: Lou, can you find a production date for those 3-spoke wheels from your interesting NCR catalogue or an availability date? I really like those Pantah era frames.

Thank you,

fmcd

Yes, I posted a while back about looking for one of these. Have never seen one for sale. I suspect it will have to be made special.

I am probably going to use my noisy F1 Verlicchi, because it actually looks great with that bodywork, and because it does have baffles (for the tech inspectors to see).

Grabbed one of Paul's tank/seat combos as soon as I saw what he had done; glad I did. I think the so-called "F1" fairing sold by Europlast (like on my TT900SS) is same as the NCR version for this frame.

I've never seen one of these on a bike, but I wonder if it is routed under the engine? Maybe a good start? Just a thought. Lou http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ducati-cagiva-a ... 6-&vxp=mtr
