Last nights American Flat Track's final race of the year at the Perris, Ca. 1/2 mile, included a Super Hooligan Race. (Google it) One of the Super Hooligan racers was #39 John Tunstall, who I'm pretty sure is Syd's Cycles' Malcolme Tunstall's son. The announcer said he was riding a Ducati Pantah, and struggled a little pronouncing "Pantah" at first, but finally got it right. Apparently Super Hooligan rules are very few, but one of them is that the engine size has to be 750cc's or bigger. Tunstall finished 10th in the final. Found this earlier photo of him, clearly on a Syd's Pantah.

Looks like fun! I don’t see a rooster tail, but he has it cranked in there.

I really like to see the increase of makes in American dirt track oval racing. But I wish they would turn right now and then.

Actually they do on their Tourist Trophy or TT circuits. The American Flat Track rule book states that those are "conducted on specially prepared courses with a hill or jump and both right and left hand turns". Four of the twenty races on the 2017 schedule were TT's. Daytona, Springfield, Sturgis, and Peoria.

They still do that? I thought that ended when flogging quarter ton BSA's around in the dirt went out of style. Were the TT's not part of the road racing championship at one time?

Flattop please - BSA's have NEVER gone out of style! And 1/4 ton? It only just seems like that while pushing one home in the dark.
Here's the semi's from Peoria.

Hey pantah-good...
I regress, BSAs will never go out of style. Although very rare these days, it's always a treat to see one being ridden on the road or track.
Best Regards...
Flattop
