Thanks for seeing that Flattop. I did work at lining things up in some kind of harmony, and rider comfort too. And I see what you mean. I will stick some tape on those corners for a while to look at and think about a trim. MikeV

Yep. I think the bottom tail end of the fairing will get trimmed so the straight line on that frame rail will show up.

Since no one else will take the mic……..

Got the brackets made to use Dzus fasteners for the fairing; figured out how to wiggle the 900 Paso big-bore 2-into-1 equal-length exhaust system in - it juuuuust squeezes in; attached hanger for the muffler after using heat and a blunt hammer to slim it down; and, found a convenient (lazy) place to put the rear brake reservoir. Standing back, it looks fine so far.

The sad thing is that I went to talk to the guy running a small family-operated cycle business, been going there 17 years for tires, and they were GONE! Not even a sign on the door. I was there just last summer. I can’t stand the corporate chain with loud music, heavy ticky-tacky plasticky boots, and new people running it every time I drop in. Depressed me. MikeV

Why anyone would want an exhaust like this to race a 900cc Paso is baffling to me. But there was a space of a few years when there was no 900SS. So I guess someone did. It is like a Chinese puzzle to install it in the Monster swingarm. MikeV

I like the exhaust exit on the right side, I have been looking for one of those, it looks like I will have to try and fab one up for my pantah project.
Well done Mike!!

Just pecking away now. Just needs a tach, minimal wiring and start switch, hook up the fuel, and paint the body parts. I think it will be fun. MikeV

The boredom from being trapped by the rain and ice storm here got me thinking. I have come to realize my soon-to be trackbike, now called the pregnant guppy, is lacking in a lot of the latest Moto GP bike technology. Sure, it has electronic ignition, and a semi-slipper clutch, but not much else. Then it hit me, it needs some aerodynamic help. And luck would be, I found this big plastic sharkfin in the road a while back. That, and a bit more from ebay has it ready for the season. In the spirit of pre-season testing, the bike has also been camouflaged to keep some secrets from prying eyes - like those pesky SV650 and 390 KTM riders. Normally I would post this on April 1st, but it is hard to keep some things secret for very long. MikeV
