Does anybody want to share there experience of 18" racetires makes like Avon, Dunlop and Bridgestone?

Groet Remco[/quote]

Seems like the Avon AM22/23 with the SC compound remains the hot set-up over here. I raced about six seasons on them (bevel and TT1) and they worked fine.

I ran Avon 18" last year, AM22 front and AM23 rear. Great tires! Stick like crazy in the dry and in the wet up to a downpour they'll keep you in the game. The only issue I had is availability in the US. You can't always get fresh ones when you need them.

I've used nothing but, and as you say, they are excellent.

But there are different compounds, as I found in 2003 after some individual put an ad; in the club mag; offering them in pairs at a good price.

I ended up on my arse twice in the same weekend after losing the front.

For competition use get tyres with a four-digit code in a box on the sidewall, and keep the shiny side up.

Very good point. I also had a supplier try to sell me the touring version of the front. That could have resulted in a very bad day at the track.

Have been editing some of my posts because the pictures wee gone, more will follow soon.
Please don't be angry if the pictures don't follow the text excatly, did my best to sort things out

It has taken us solong to comeback to this forum, because we were building a loft above our workshop.
I did put up some pictures from the work we were doing, but they got lost in the server crash.
in the meantime the season started at the end of march and we went for a 3 day tracktraing at Ledenon,
a 4 hour classic endurance race at Oschersleben, the ducati clubrace and the MGCN trackday at Mettet.
Later this month we will take part at the festival Italia at Oschersleben.

Some more picture from the headstock will follow below.
We are still working on the smaller details for the mountingpoints of the ignition, coils, battery, regulator and engine breigthing system.

Cheers Remco

Hoi Graeme,

Building is very slow this summer season.

We have been very bisy racing our ducati 992RF supertwin.
We did take part in a 3h classic endurance with guzzi and ducati bikes last saterday night.

But most of the summer was spend at racing with Art motor in the supertwin class.
This is like the good old days Bott racing in the urly 80's.
2 valve rules with ducati's, guzzi's, bimota's and ncr's
Close racing with big twins and funny germans :D

But the winter is coming soon and we will continue building our pantah project.
Have almost finished the seat model, feiko has build the headstock parts and while ted did some work on cilinderhead's with bigger valve's.

Will post some progress soon, groeten Remco
