Love the modified head, nice improvement on the original. Cool idea to get the Aussie racing specials together. Wonder whatever happened to the various Herb Watson race bikes?

Love the modified head,
Thanks for pointing that out I missed noticing it first time around. There was a lot of effort put into that! :o

Like to think the inspiration came for the Paton, serious hotrod Italian 500

I was wondering about the carbs, with those inlets angled up but with more or less the same length, it must be a tight fit between those upper tubes.

Loved to ride it. If only it had a more reliable engine with a bit more ponies.

Hi the top frame tubes have been modified/shaped/dinted to clear the carbs.[40mm dellorto/malossi] Progress is very slow, i've got to strengthen the engine cases on left side very thin between main bearing and top off block. Pete said he either welded or used long through bolts with a plug in the bottom. [Ikea type bolt arrangment on a large scale]. A visit might be needed. Boucher.

Cool project, it is really moving forward, makes you wonder why the factory didn't build motors like that. From memory the parallel twin provided the gearbox arrangement and clutch for the first Pantahs

The first Pantah had the gears of the Parallel with only a few mods to the shafts.
The clutch was completely different, the parallel had an extra gear on the inside of the basket to drive the oilpump and camshaft (via the camchain).
