Lou nice to remember Fran !

Yup those are the kind of mistakes that only happen once!
I learned from a good friend when working on something if I have to take leave of what I am doing I put a piece of green or yellow masking tape where I stopped.
As an apprentice I was told you fix your own f… ups!

Paul

You are correct Paul, and Flattop, that was funny! Replacing NCR clutch basket, all the screws were stripped. but only one needed an extractor. Oh and my new years resolution is to get better lighting in the garage. I work with a flashlight! Lou

The flashlight is still working so I installed the clutch assembly. After piecing things together. Thanks Mike, I was able to get the small primary to work. Everything fit well and I installed fresh bearings and seals in the assembly. Next step, plumbing the oil cooler and cam end caps. Lou

Hi all, oil lines are run to the cooler. The turtle pushes forward. Now oil lines to cam end covers. Then install starter motor. I will polish the alternator cover, just finished stripping the black. Also working on the Symposium, and trying to get people motivated! Not easy! Lou

Slow but good. Think how much free time you would have if you skipped spit-shining the alternator cover! Of course, taking the paint off did lighten it a bit. MikeV

Funny you said that. My buddy Chris Jensen said tonight 'you could just leave it bead blasted'. All the TT's I've seen have that cover polished, whether the engine was black or natural ally, so I feel it is required. No one said it would be easy Mike! Details, details! Lou

I needed to address seat mounts to the frame. The two rear frame brackets had nothing but a hole, so every time I put the bolt in I had to hold a nut behind it. I considered remaking the brackets and putting in Dzus fasteners, but decided not to. I used nut-serts and they seemed to work nicely. I welded on a small diagonal bracket for a small Dzus fastener for the left side seat leg. The right side is cut so no leg. No rhyme or reason, I like the asymmetrical look with exposed master. I know these are small things, just trying to keep the Forum moving. Lou
