Hi Mike, The valves were cleaned up using a wire brush in drill press before starting all the measuring process. I measured the valve to piston clearance firstly using the same solder wire (1.6mm). There were no indents on the wire which means I at least 1.6mm gap. I then measured using a blob of bluetac and found the exhaust at around 3.5mm and the inlet >4mm. I'm not sure how strictly accurate the bluetac technique is but even if the error is significant, there seems to be plenty of room. No machining required...happy days!! |

It's been a stressful time over the last couple of years while I've been accumulating parts. I break into a cold sweat every time my wife goes anywhere near my credit card statements.
