Looking good mike, staying true to the authenticity is the hardest. Well done. Boucher.

Well, I kept putting parts on, and suddenly it is a rolling chassis. I am sure a few thing will be changed over time, but all seems to fit well and work. Next to the dreaded painting of the bodywork; I wish Boucher was near to do that. MikeV

Hey Mike...
The moment I've been waiting for. The wheels are on, and they are beauty's. Same ones? I notice the side walls are now unpainted. For me this is the best way to see what a bike is all about....naked. Every part looks brand new and the attention to detail is top notch. Fiberglass inner fender? How did you overcome the issue with welding around the site glass? This build is looking really great and is probably going to be my favorite.
Best Regards....
Flattop

Thanks flattop. Yes, same wheels; I built up my courage and then carefully removed the paint using paint stripper, a small brush, and steel wool — always working to the outside. Came out perfect. Fiberglass inner mud fender from the UK. Removed the site glass for the work, and told the experienced welder that he could just touch the edge around the glass, but not the surface where the gasket makes contact. He got a good bead started and just kept going past the closest spot — he did two of them perfectly. Another part I am pleased with is the rear caliper carrier that I found on ebay Italy; it appears to be the exact part after I opened up the the center triangle.

TWO THUMBS UP!!

What would you say, when you talk physical dimensions of that bike, how does it compare to overall layout of an F1?? Any big differences?

Geez Cal, l am not that technical. But, based on riding the No 8 IOM replica, and on some technical specs — it is long and lanky — kinda like what a bevel must be like. Vintage.

Unless You succeeded in altering the angle of the headstock ( NOT easy) and fabricating a shorter rear fork (easier) I would say the dimensions are pretty original. At least they were when Ducati raced them.
All my Ducati stuff is in storage so I don't have access to the articles published in Motosprint about the Ducati Pantah racers.
With the raceseat and tank, it was lower than standard, but the rather heavy fairing made it a handfull in the chicanes. That's why there are a lot of pics of Pantah's raced in hillclimbs without fairing.
Apart from being stable, it's much more agile than a bevel (that was about 10 cm longer also).
While I could (just) get a F3 into my car, a Pantah wouldn't fit without "modifying" my door ;)

Great work, would be nice to see the four bikes in their different configurations (AND the Ducati van in the back).

I didn't get past this stadium (and then had to clear out the house).
Standard frame, forks. Just added a tank and seat, lowered the fairing about 5 cm.
Just a mockup, NO WAY I'm cutting up this Pantah (first series) but I have a some spare frames of Pantah and Alazzurra to modify.
