I finally got this to its maiden track day, and thought it reasonable to report how it went. Great!

I have never really ridden a Pantah fast, and thought this would feel really old-fashioned --- it did not. Everything worked, and the only change was to increase main jet sizes to 175 H and 185 V. It easily pulled 9,000 RPM and that is where I chose to stop for a first ride. Not a drop from the oil lines was lost. Really surprised that the suspension (35mm Marz Mag forks and Marz shocks) was actually good, and that a 12mm Brembo Goldline brake master, 05 Goldlines, and some of Carlo's 260mm rotors could work so well (almost raised the rear tire when someone slowed unexpectedly on the main straight). It really was a fun day. A friend took a few photos, but none on the track, so....

The guy with the hair is Brian Catterson; once a contributor to Cycle World and then editor of Motorcyclist. He raced and won on an Alazurra around 1987. So he was interested.

I am very pleased that my brakes work at their best, I must say that when I had the courage to sell the first pair of disc brakes, I had already had a year of endurance with the first two replicated disc brakes.

In fact it's true, the rear wheel always rises to me too, I managed to build a 38MM M1R fork with the internal pumping elements of a 916 showa ..... when I found the right spring, in endurance racing the braking before the curve is a deadly weapon ... the rear wheel wants to overcome the front one !!! HAHAHA !!!

Proof it runs: A very slow corner at Pacific Raceway, Kent, WA September 4, 2020. Now has 40mm carbs --- starts and runs better! Got some erratic high-gear clutch slip on some straights (not while shifting) late in this very hot day. Will try different oil, and see how it goes before I dink around with it. Probably done for this year. Thanks for the comments. I hope some of the posts helped someone else build one. MikeV

Well Mike, well, I had the same problem with the clutch in the Pantah 500 racer, but my problem was that I had the small clutch, I don't think that's your problem

Hope none of the fires are near you......seems like there are fires across the entire west coast....they sky is yellow and overcast from smoke down here in SoCal, very eerie look. The sun looks like the moon, but tinted red

Ride on....

Klotz oil was always the answer to the clutch slip problem back when(10 years ago)
I cant speak to today ... and if they changed anything in the formula that would change this recommendation.
Maybe a phone call to them would clarify...

At a minimum.....ya got to get one of those Klotz scented candles. In the winter time you can light it up in the garage and think you are at the races......or when you are in between projects and the garage lacks odor.....light r'up....

DO they smell like Castrol 747 burnt ?
Tried making those myself but didn't come close (and cost a lot).

I dunno how good they smell.....I am not going to buy one for $30...they must have spent a lot trying to get it right too. See the link...burning that 747 in the garden tools should keep the mosquitos away for a day or 2....
