Nice to see the return of bike and rider to more than "static display". Those are mighty big main jets ! -Cranky-

Yes, they are. But the bike ran well, and the plugs looked near-perfect at the end of the day. May go down to 180/175, if anything. This is the first set of JPrecsion heads i have used. Maybe the combo of carbs, heads, cams, and pistons just works well? Sometimes you get lucky. MikeV

Hallo Cranky. I got to put in about two gallons of 100LL Avgas. So it probably averaged 96 octane. Boy did it run lean! Insulators almost white! So now I have bumped the jets up. Put in some more 100. We will see next track day. MikeV

Fantastic Mike!!!, I hadn't seen it. I've been a bit distracted lately. 618F1 wrote: Proof it runs. Seven full sessions at Portland International Raceway on Sunday 10/4. Photos are early in the morning and at the end of the day. No on-track photographer there. A few small adjustments made at the track, and some to do back home. I will follow up on the latter in a day or so. And offers comments on the Avon tyres and the 16/18-inch wheel combo. Attachment: tda.jpg Attachment: tdc.jpg I have no idea how in the hell these photos got upside down. Spies? Hackers?

It did seem to run leaner and what I didn't like is it seemed to leave some white residue as it evaporates off in the container. If you can get away with it......I think I would use pump premium. Some of you older guys, there might be a couple on here.......did you ever mix up your own brews, add toluene, etc....trying to get an edge

At the pump we have 92 Ethanol (not good for fiberglass tanks, and a lot of other things in high-humidity Oregon), and 92 non-ethanol at $6/gallon. I bought some non-ethanol from a commercial seller and milky stuff showed up in the lines from an aluminum tank. How much do I trust the pumps?
The 100 LL (low lead) non-ethanol avgas is $7/gallon. I can drive by our small airfield and pump it myself any time I wish. It actually smells pleasant, is a pretty blue color (ha ha), and evaporates very quickly off the top of a tank. It can sit in a tank quite a while with no problems. It is for air-cooled engines. You don’t mess with aviation stuff!
The VP race gas is +$20/gallon, I can find no answer on the website concerning what it does to fiberglass - and not even from the guy selling it at the track! I hear it has a short due date.
Gonna try the TT2 with avgas again this weekend. If it does not rain in Portland. 10/1 usually means it starts. MikeV

I ran some gulf 110 in the guzzi mixed with some shell ultra about a 50/50 mix plugs looked nice and clean, seemed easier to get a decent read off the plug. Mike I have seen some white stuff come out of an alloy tank myself, I put it down to the tank sitting around with no fuel in? I drained the tank washed it out with sone dish detergent and hot water, seemed to do the trick. Hope you get out this weekend and have some fun! Paul

Never got back about the Avgas. Came home and the plugs were really light. The exhaust is now a nice gray instead of black. Now up to 195 on the V and 190 on the H. Next year. MikeV
