Another great looking build. So that makes like four bikes now? I wish I had just 10% of your drive. Well done.

Thanks for the comments gents. One thing that really strikes me is how SMALL and cramped this thing feels when I sit on it. No place to relax, no place to lounge. And I am only 5’9”, 170 lbs. MikeV

Proof it runs. Seven full sessions at Portland International Raceway on Sunday 10/4. Photos are early in the morning and at the end of the day. No on-track photographer there.

A few small adjustments made at the track, and some to do back home. I will follow up on the latter in a day or so. And offers comments on the Avon tyres and the 16/18-inch wheel combo.

I have no idea how in the hell these photos got upside down. Spies? Hackers?

New sticker. Well, I really like these Avon Roadriders. Sticky when they were installed, and sticky when I came home. Really hard to say these are inferior to a good radial (not a race radial and tire warmers).

I did get the sensation of the bike wanting to stand up if I tried to brake with a slow lean in or slowing in the middle of a curve. What I read about the 16-inch front in every book or mag, and like my first and all-stock F1. But that is not the tires. They made me comfortable on a new bike.

Track Day at Pacific Racways 7/9/2021

Everything on this bike is good and ready to go with but one exception; the wet clutch is not along for the ride. It is one or two thousand RPMs behind on the straights in fourth and fifth gears (it will pull 10,000+ if I could let it). I have to baby it heading into even short straights now. And that is after inspecting the clutch, going to the heavier springs (2.70mm diameter vs. 2.45mm), and changing to a different wet-clutch specific oil. I have now added another driven plate to the inside of the stack, and changed to another oil. We will see. After more reading I see this is a common problem with these wet clutches, even on the more modern bikes. Starting to consider converting to a dry clutch, but really would like use the parts and keep some of the originality of these Pantah engines. Anyway, here are a couple of shots for "proof that it runs". MikeV
