And now this is finally ready for the bodywork. Will look like the 70s. First time with my own complete-for-the-street wiring harness; seems to be working, hope it doesn’t fry. True grit comes to mind when thinking about making an entire wire harness. What are you planning on using for wrap? Nice job. You better trade mark "complete for the street" before someone steals it and uses in advertising. Flattop |

I have used plastic spiral wrap, the kind I normally put around steel brake lines. Comes in a variety of diameters, and easy to put on after you have figured out where the wires are going and can be bundled - which was a learn as you go thing for me. You can also pull out a couple of wires at some point, like for the front brake switch, and wrap them together. May or may not add to the wiring going to the back. I thought it could be no worse than the plastic used for switches and on most older Ducatis. If you look closely inside the right top rail you can see the main bundle from fuse box to the stuff up front. MikeV |

I am always surprised to see how close things get once modifications start. Small conflicts between parts. Had to rework the headlight/instrument bracket more than once to get the instruments fitting nicely inside the fairing. It got tight. The front is an after-market replacement for the ones that fit on the brake line splitter attached to the triple clamp; it works. The rear is a used part that is like a banjo bolt, with the lines going off at a 90 degree angle to the inside of the frame; after some cleaning it worked! Surprised and happy they did the job. There is room for me to add warning lights in both lower corners of the aluminum plate below the “clocks”. Maybe for oil pressure, and for charging. That is all i would want. MikeV |

Those large clocks do take up a lot of real-estate. Thankfully you had enough room forward to keep them from interfering with the master cylinders. |

It wasn't even that simple. I started out with the type of clipons that project out about 3/4th inch from the stanchions, and those crashed into the “clocks”. Was starting to panic. So went to these chromed ones that are flush with the tubes. I was afraid they would bang into the tank, but they did not, because the tank i am using is narrow up front. Luck. I am now happy with them. But funny how all the planning still requires a zig-zag. MikeV |
