Hi everyone, Here are pictures of my 1988 750F1-S. I am the original owner and it is my best / favorite bike. It was raced from '88 to '96, retired for street, then setup for track days in '05. Now it has just been updated with some stuff which I couldn't afford back in the day. (thanks to Mike W. Steve M. Leon C. and Gary P. for various parts). As I am just recovering from serious illness, my new hope / plan is to enter it in a vintage race possibly next year. Rich Attachment:

Also Astra's! Nice!! Does anyone know the history between the Astra's and the TT's? I'm building a TT-repl. (Harris frame) and got two sets of Astra's; 18" gold and 17"-18" black, and was wondering which one is the best suitable for a replica?
...just made a new topic.

Looks really nice Rich, bet you can't wait. I think I see the radial master on your 996. How did the plumbing go? Bill

Hi guys,
The 17" diameter Astralite wheels were both installed long ago in order to use slicks, but the original rear was 4.0" wide and the swingarm was a narrow stock steel one. Recently I found a 5.5" wide wheel on ebay and a beautiful Verillichi aluminum (wider) swingarm from Loudbike Steve.
Yes, the 19x18 radial front brake master cylinder is the same as my 996's one. It fitted to the F1 pretty easy and so did the 4-piston calipers (with an adapter plate). The steel brake lines I used on the older master cylinder and 2-piston calipers fit right up with no changes. I had to make a simple mounting plate for the resevoir but that was easy, too. The really nice 300mm dia rotors came from Carlos L. in Italy.
I haven't actually ridden the bike yet except around my neighborhood but plan to bring it to Barber in October and ride the track day on Monday. I'd like to ride it first at a track day at Loudon and even maybe enter the Barber race, but right now both seem unlikely due to a few of my non-bike issues. I'm really looking forward to seeing you all at Barber!
Rich

Hi everybody,
I took a few more pictures today. These have the new fiberglass gas tank, lower fairing removed and new racing number. Besides the wheels, suspension, brakes upgrades mentioned above...this is more description.
The engine is almost full race but still 750cc. Balanced/polished crank, Carillo rods, Leoni pistons, FBF 42mm intake & 39mm exhaust valves, flowed/polished heads, NCR7 cams, external oil lines, 41.5mm flatslide Mikunis and transmission with improved bearings.
I have UNI air-filters, Conti quieter exhaust and the electric starter/alternator installed for ease of street use. I can convert it back to street in about 2 hours including the OEM red/white/green bodywork and it looks new.
I believe Cagiva converted older unsold F1-B models into F1-S models which were fully street legal. When the AMA switched Pro-Twins classes from GP1 & GP2 to GP &Modified Production, these were homologated. Supposedly they made 150 "S" models but all A and B's were also allowed in Modified Production. The AMA also instituded a new $10,000 claiming rule. By then the Erion Brothers (Two Sister Racing?) had switched to running Hawks and never made good on their threat to claim the top-10 finishers at Daytona.

Nice pictures Rich. That has to be good medicine to have it looking so good and ready to go. Looking forward to seeing you on it at Barber - or sooner at Loudon? Bill

Hi Mike, I can convert it back to street in a couple of hours. I put on the original bodywork which is red, white and green. People stop me and think it is new (they don't know Duc models). But I tell them its been down the track upside-down about 8 times! It was very crash-worthy... Here are 2 old pictures of it set-up for street. One was at the 2nd TT/F1 Symposium in NJ, you can see that famous guy Lou S. Hi Bill, I'm gonna try to bring it up to the Sept 5 USCRA just to show it off and ride around the paddock since I'm not ready to race yet. I'd like to do a track day but that is on hold. I will go to Barber with Mike W. Rich
