Found this forum, a little while ago and have just got around to joining. My 1986 F1 750 was a Christmas present from my Husband a couple of years ago. A cosmetic restoration seemed to be the way to go and having other bikes (yes, more Ducati's) the restoration has only been underway for a couple of months. It's going well, I know I am going to have questions, so be prepared because they might be stupid questions too. I attach a couple of photos - one take from the "sale" information and the second showing the rather sad state of it. It is now in a million bits and so far, restoration has included re-plating every nut and bolt on the bike and gold dipping the correct bits. Bead blasting everything! Who knew how tiring it could be standing doing that! Heads have been re-shimmed and are sitting waiting to go back on to the newly painted cases. Frame will go off with the wheels, and swingarm to be sprayed by someone more proficient and then we will start assembly. Swingarm had a hole in one of the welds and that too has been fixed, so glad I found that before we had it painted!!! Enough for now, am sure you will hear more from me in a bit.

At least you have the million bits. Looks like a good one to work with. MikeV
