I'm guessing from the lack of response that perhaps no one knows. Any details would be appreciated.

Also Dale's bike started as a DB1R which to the best of my knowledge only 5 were produced. (I know of 2 others still in existance, 1 in spain and 1 in Japan. I believe the other 2 are gone. I believe one burned up in a crash.) The engine in this particular DB1R was built by Eraldo Ferracci. When asked about this bike Eraldo stated, "You know Dale, he kicka lotta' ass on that motor."

Here it is fully restored at a show a few years back. You can see that it has the same Supertrapp exhaust with the same dent under the shift lever from where it was "clearenced" (stomped on) by Quaterley after it fouled the shifter.

Having just (finally) acquired my first DB1; an SR, I have an even keener interest than before.

Crash, during my last monthly visit with Frank Romanelli, he told me that he had brought four of the 'R's over - One went to Dale, one to Tunstall, one to Jimmy Lombardo and the 4th he couldn't remember.. Although it was the one that was burnt to a crisp. Apparently, the 4th was somewhat rebuilt as Frank recalled selling the guy a bodywork kit and a whack of other stuff.

Mine's thankfully been molested and is no longer 100% original, so I get do do my usual stuff to it..

Do you own the Quarterly bike?

Thanks for the info Gary! This bike has actually changed hands this very week and will soon be with it's new owner. It's really a nicely restored/preserved piece and he (not me) should very much enjoy it.

Happy New Year,

I am honored to say that I'm the new owner of Dale's Bimota. If anyone knows about Dale's racing history with the bike, I would greatly appreciate you sharing the information.

Thanks,
Greg

I love that bike. Thank you for posting the pictures. Now if you had a nice 900SS bevel (like the one pictured above) to park next to it that would be an incredible collection.
