Dear all,

Togheter with my mate Polo la Soupage from Belgium we have been pitching our ideas and plans for a TT / F1 Race during the 37th Ducati Clubrace in Assen on 27, 28 & 29 May 2016. We, me and Polo, represent the Ducati Clubs from Holland and France and got a green light for this initiative to get a field of interested riders togheter before Januari 2017. So the challenge is on all of us to make this first ever TT / F1 race happen! Apart from the race we also will get space in the paddock, a tent bringing all bikes togheter and some other opportunities like for example a show of collectors bike in the maintent (next to ours) and maybe invite some special riders from the past.

The theme is The Ducati TT is coming home!

The theme refers to the TT-track of Assen, just a nice teaser. Last year I raced my Santa Monica in the Bottrevival and Euroclassics, and in both classes togheter we had 14 TT's and F1's racing so we are almost halfway since the minimum is 30 interested riders and bikes. We have discussed the technical regulations and will be focussing on the spirit of the TT and Pantah so will be open for various exotic creations too.

What do we want to know before January 17th 2016?
The objective until mid-January is to list how many people are interested to race, with a field of 30 riders we will get our own class during the event, with less might be in a combined race with other Italian young timer bikes. Last year already 14 TT’s and F1’s participated in various classes.

The proposed Program
Friday May 27th 2016
- Short license course 80 minutes on track and some theory time or
- Free practice including starting practice, 105 minutes on track

May 28th 2016
- 2 qualifications, 20 minutes
- Saturday evening:
o TT / F1 dinner
o Ducati TT / F1 Symposium

May 29th 2016
- Ducati TT / F1 Race, 25 minutes

Proposed Technical Regulations
The TT / F1 race is to support the spirit of the best race Ducati ever build and consists of the following types, displacement and technical specifications:
- TT Open; 2 valve belt drive Ducati engines with carburetors and the rear carburetor facing the rear side of the engine, engine in the known Trellis frame of any make
- TT1; 601 – 750 cc 2 valve belt drive engines with carburetors and the rear carburetor facing the rear of the engine. TT1 racers, F1’s, DB1’s, Moretti's and other Pantah engine race / track machines are welcome too
- TT2; 350 – 600 cc 2 valve belt drive engines with carburetors and the rear carburetor facing the rear of the engine. TT2 racers, F3’s and other Pantah engine race / track machines are welcome

Noise regulation is max 104 dB (A), according to the FIM measuring methodology in a static situation. But last year I experienced the organisation was very easy on noise. The short license course is for those who have no race license but track experience (like ex racers).

Costs
- Free practice on Friday 27th of May: ; €205,-
- 2 Qualification and Race day on 28th and 29th of May; €195,- ,
- Short license course on Friday 27th of May: €160,00,
- 1 extra race with the same bike €95,- (classes like the Bottrevival or Euroclassics)

For these costs you will get camping in the paddock near the Symposium tent, free shower and refreshment facilities, electric connection and extra access of the event for one mechanical helper and 2 visitors (at least 12,50 Euro per ticket). And a T-shirt of the event.

Do we want more?
Yes ! With a field of TT’s and F1’s in this unique first time race, a fantastic weekend with friends and enthusiasts from all over the world and the atmosphere of the Cathedral of Speed we are all winners.

The challenge first is to reach our goal mid-January goal to have enough interested riders. We have ideas but we like to invite you with your ideas too to participate so please make it happen with us and let us know what you can do for us or like to be part of this weekend.

If you are interested or want additional information please respond on this topic or send me a personal message.

Best regards,

Ron Verweij

Dear all,

A little update done above but quiet important since its about tracktime and costs. Just got this feedback on the draft proposal I shared yesterday by the organisation.
- Free practice on Friday 27th of May with 105 Minutes tracktime: ; €205,-
- Short license course on Friday 27th of May with 80 Minutes tracktime and theory (flags and more): €160,00,
- 2 Qualification and Race day on 28th and 29th of May; €195,- ,
- 1 extra race with the same bike €90,- (classes like the Bottrevival or Euroclassics)
- For non-Dutch license holders €25,- for a weekend license

So it is the costs for Friday 27th when you want to get track time and explore the circuit as license holder or need to do the shortened license course + the costs for the qualifications and race 28th & 29th + the costs for the weekend licence if you have a non-Netherlands license. The extra class is not mandatory. Now it must be clear.

Btw you also will get a T-shirt sponsored by the Ducati Clubrace Organisation when you join :-) (updated above too). My mate Polo is Belgian and has some great ideas about the Sathurday evening dinner !

@Pat I send you a personal message.

Best regards,

Ron

Hi Eric,

The "Spirit of the TT" is allowing 17" wheels, UPSD, modern 2 valve engines with the milled rear heads but with carbs and those carbs facing to the rear. Does this answer your questions?

Bon regards, Ron
