At this point, nicer usable sets are getting too scarce to have any kind of a fair market value that I'm aware of. You will need some luck to get them at a "reasonable" price.

I've searched for high density red nylon to make these, but had no luck. Anyone know where I might source some? Flattop.

There is one R handlebar with a red end on eBay for about the same price. At least you would have a spare if you fall to the right. I'll take the bar off you hands. MikeV

I had a reason I was asking. I have a nice pair of them and I cant use them because I have the aluminum magura clip ons that have the closed ends on them. A person doing a nice stock bike needs these. I dont know what a fair price is?

Let the market decide, put 'em on eBay.

I have always sold my junk on craigslist, swap meets, forum members, clubs or to buddies that are playing with the same stuff that I do. I have bought quite a pile off ebay over the years.....

Flattop, I don't think you can make those on something like a lathe. They must be some sort of a casting where only the outer surface is shiny. I tried to carefully polish up a scuffed one once, and it just got worse. I've never seen any other bar ends made like them.
Clay, I've only sold one item on eBay, which was something that was difficult to put a price on at that time. It sold and did better than I would have guessed. The ones up on eBay now should give you an idea of a price, especially since now all the people who might possibly be interested in a set (those of us on this forum) are aware they are up for auction. But they are such an easy item to tuck away, that's what I'd do.

Hi Pantah Good... You are right, some plastics will not polish up no matter what you do to them. I have however machined a plastic called Delrin (don't think it is nylon) and the surface finish straight off the machine is amazing. Here is an example of polished Delrin. Now just to find the red stuff... Flattop
