I made a floating caliper last night using a SS caliper mount and removing the stay,

I turned up a dowel to mount the caliper bracket to so it was all running true to the spindle center then machined the boss allowing me to hold that in the chuck and machine from the other side.

Once this was opened out I fitted a oilite bush and faced up the inner side for the one half of a top hat spacer

Quick and easy solution, I need to mount the swing arm and then measure the outer spacer which shall be slightly longer than the boss allowing the mount to rotate.

Perfect! Thank you. MikeV

Interesting way to chuck up that part. Have thought about a few things like that, but was afraid to do it. Will give it a go.
