Hello,
I am starting a TT900 project, Bristol UK.
Based on a 900ssie. That is donating front end, engine, electrics, possibly exhaust, wheels, brakes, etc Verlicchi replica frame, ally tank (external fuel pump), F1 fairing, F1 seat.
Donor bike has 12000 miles on it.
Lot's of stupid questions to follow.

Welcome Captain! All questions answered if possible, so no worries. We are a judgement free zone for the most part. Lou

A TT is a long held ambition of mine and I thought I would never afford it, but the stars aligned and an accident damaged (cosmetic) 900 came at the right price point, along with some other bits and pieces. Q1 - Fairings/seats, what's the difference F1 vs F2 vs TT1 vs TT2? Q2 - External fuel pump - I have a 900ssie so need an external fuel pump. Any advice and guidance?

Q3 - Brake torque arms, how long? Rose jointed at the carrier and the engine.

Q4 - Exhaust - currently have the 900ssie exhaust, which is crusty. Budget means I will keep it short term. Longer term, what to go for? Single or dual pipe?
Q5 - Oil cooler - In the fairing? Or where it is on the front pot?
Q6 - Lights - Any recommendations?

Morning (here). You have asked a lot of questions. So, let me ask: First, is this to be a street bike? And, using a 900 engine in a “TT” frame? Also, what is the source of the frame, please? Finally, what swingarm were thinking of using?
It has been done more than once, so not impossible, but there are some specific problems with that combo. For some entertainment you might look at my past posting named TT 900 SS Project in Pantah Racers and Hotrods section. There is a similar (hybrid) track day bike now converted to street use.

PS: i am posting a few new photos with info on the tt 900 ss thread.

I have never hears of CDS as a frame builder. Can you tell us more? Concern is what engine is the frame built for; 600-750, or 800-900? The 900 engine is much taller, and wider at the engine bolts, and heavier, than the early (1979-1991) small engines. If the frame is a replica of a tt2 you may be shocked when you try to place it onto the 900 engine.

MikeV Sorry, CDS stands for cold drawn steel, it’s a type of tubing. I am is taking advice from a grown up on the fabrication front and copying an existing machine that has a Verlicchi frame and adapting to the engine I have.

@618F1 MikeV
Inspired by the first read of your build, I now want twin reverse cone silencers and a silver frame.
