Getting ready for the pre-grid at Riverside Raceway 1987. In the background is Trevor Dunne #26 and Bill Byrnes #937 who would die there the next year at a AFM meet during practice. Rain poured before we made the grid but they sent us off anyway, the results can be seen in the second picture. Slicks and rain don't work well.

Hey Gary, any chance you remember/recognize the bike Paul acquired recently, as talked about and pictured in this thread : http://www.ducatittandf1.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1009 ?? It was built by Bud Rodgers, who also owned my Harris TT for a while. Mine was originally owned and AFM raced by Art Chambers. Bill p.s. Keep your great pictures coming.

Hi Bill, I do not recognize the bike, they all changed so much from race to race back then so it's hard to tell. I know my bike changed several times and almost always for the better. The big bore kit was not a good change, the motor needed constant attention so we went back to stock barrels with race pistons. Making money running a bike shop is tough enough but when too much time is spent on the race bike is kind of negative cash flow problem.
Hi Lou, I believe it was an Ohlins shock that we kept a tank of nitrogen around for, also used in the tires.

Thanks Gary. Figured that was probably a long shot. How big was your big bore kit and isn't a negative cash flow pretty much a given when racing? The fun you have is priceless, but you still have to eat. Bill
