So last week I went ahead and bought mould making and carbon fibre laminating kits!

I dont know if the ribbing on my clutch cover will melt, being just semi rigid plastic foam stuff! so today I stuffed all the holes full of modelling putty and have applied a few coats of release wax...for any ex military amongst us...just like bulling boots..wax on, tiny cirlces with cloth covered finger and switch brain off! However this time no Sergeant Major to shout at me if I screw it up!

Tommorrow will be the day of reckoning... make the mould first and then see how much 2/2 twill carbon fabric I can recycle into the waste bin! ...if I can actually separate this 'original' from the mould that is! :

Hello All

not been online here for a while, been uber-busy at work :( .. and also been fiddling about with my 900SL so not been doing much on the F1 rep at all! however I have successfully made my first mould for carbon fibre production!

Well successfull is perhaps at the moment too generous a word to give it...but it aint too bad...needs a few air voids filling in and tidying up, and a lot of polishing before I attempt the first 'job' but hopefully should be OK :D

Well my Carbon moulding came to a sudden end.... failure, the Clutch cover is too intricate for a first attempt, needs to be a vacuum formed part. Will have to doa few more things in carbon before having another go at this!

However major changes to the bike.... got myself a couple of sets of M1R forks, and an original set of quick release goldline calipers.... now have to rethink the 25mm axle front wheel, the speedo drive the brake discs and the mudguard layout! Also need to get a new top yoke made up as I am not using the fugly Paso yoke. Also have to look at the possibilities of shortening the stanchions...dont want half a foot of fork leg above the top yoke!

Also managed to get this frosty little bad boy made up for me by a Polish colleague and his cousin's dad's CNC machine! Cheap as chips as they say down London way! All I need to do is get it welded together and a couple of HK1512 bearings whacked in! :D

Had the Exhaust shortened.... had someone screw up the Aluminium welding on both the swingarm bracing and the newly machined Shock linkage..doh!... cut the seat unit down so the rear 'hump' wasnt too high... its still too high and now it looks too long!...doh! don't mind cut and shutting some more...just am so not looking forward to bodyfiller and sandpaper time! :(

I think it looks good, and I like your old school Dzus fasteners too. Nice job.
