Well, I pulled out this ex-racer F1 frame (part of another Reno Leoni bike, now scattered to the winds on eBay), and started putting parts on a shelf for the build. But I have always thought that I would not be a MAN (like the British Man/Boy Journeyman/Apprentice system) until I learned to use a lathe. Besides, for the No. 8 Pantah project I got introduced to welding and painting. So I am now side-tracked with this vintage bottom-barrel South Bend 9-inch lathe; it is in good condition, but filthy from sitting uncovered. It was easy to take down from the bench and put on the trailer, but I am concerned about putting it UP on the bench. Soon I will be turning out fancy things, like axle spacers and bearing spacers and sliding fairing brakets, that will rival the parts from Carlo L in Italy. MikeV

A good sturdy "level" bench or frame, lathe tools, various pieces of turnable material, and more red wine!
Enjoy.

Just noted your post Jack! Will take me decades to learn what you know. PS: I got the funny little data devise, and finally figured out how to open it, and put it in the computer; I miss those funny little multi-colored floppy discs of old. Great photos of those bikes and events. And I like the stripe added to the Guzzi tank (and a few other changes, I see). Take care, MikeV

OK. I know this is a Ducati site, and I promise to never do this again, but here is the Guzzi cafe Jack was brave enough to buy from me about six years ago (has it been that long?). A 1041cc locomotive.
