While I'm at it I'll also recommend a couple "can't live without" tools and a home made one for a specific job. If you do a lot of safety wiring, you must know how many bad side cutting pliers are out there. A very good set I've found are made by Klein Tools. They cut safety wire pigtails well and remain sharp for a race season or so, but will eventually become only average. The Knipex adjustable pliers have become one of my favorite all around tools. They just do what they do really well, and I make sure they are always handy. I used to struggle with removing the e-rings when dis-assembling floating rotors for cleaning until I started using one of the blades out of a Red Devil scraper. I filed down the edges square to push on the open ends of the e-ring, and notched the other edge for button clearance once the rings are half way out. And the Knipex pliers are perfect for reinstalling them.

While following Poison's posts about his Ti electrical mounting plate, I remembered about a good drill for drilling safety wire holes in Ti nuts and bolts, found only by trial and error. It is a 1/16" jobbers' drill bit for shallow holes made of cobalt steel. Works good on stainless too. When drilling Ti they work best at pretty low rpm's and a fair amount of pressure so nice chips come out. They are good for MAYBE a half dozen safety wire holes, if you're lucky. They will loose their good cutting edge and break. There may be better TI drills out there, but I stopped looking when I found these.
