It’s been pretty quiet here, I didn’t really have a project in mind, but I had a 500sl pantah frame in the basement that I had offered to a friend, no luck so here I go again. Thanks to Lou I have a 650 wet clutch motor, Mike V sorted me out with the missing clutch parts and the holder for the pickups.
The motor was in very good shape, once the grunge was cleaned off. I removed the heads and the cylinders, bores were clean, heads no sign of wear. I dropped the heads off at the local machine shop for a cleanup and valve job.
The tank I have was originally for a hailwood bevel, with a little modification it fits perfectly, I acquired a seat from Italy last week so she is starting to take shape
The basement is a little crowded, do to the loss of some storage space at my friends shop!

Mike I believe it was machined by the original builder of the pantah which became a donor for a Tt build.
I received a package from Our friend Carlo today, there are a few more pieces to go on in the coming days

Hi Huit Lovely project. Wheel and tank are super. Same as Carlo floating rotors. What about your front fork is that a m1 from a750 sport on stock triple trhee? I'm asking because I'm trying to do that kindd of setup. Enjoy your project Filippo

Filippo Thank you for your comments. The fork is a 38 m1r, I don’t know where it came from. Paul

I got the clutch and stator cover stripped this week. Since I was slow cooking some ribs on the bbq I decided to paint and bake the engine enamel on at the same time Paul

Progress is slow as usual thanks to Mike V again, the heads can be complete once they come back from a little valve cleanup and blasting. I really like the paint on the covers, it seems pretty tough after baking, enough to break your teeth Carlo!
Received my new pistons last week!

And it sure beats polishing them! Sorry Lou.
What year are the wines? Any ‘48 Rothchilds reds?
