You are always so kind to thank me Lou!

Every now and then you pull a rabbit out of the hat, how I would like to come and visit you, my wife has stepped on the magical soil of your workshop, and I haven't.......why!!!?????
You should know that my daughter, a dancer, 16 years old at the time, won a scholarship to the American Ballet Studio, and my wife accompanied her to New York, and then returned to Italy and left my daughter to take classical and modern dance lessons, in a very well organized structure to follow young people who study, providing dedicated accommodation, in that period Lou did what a good parent could do, remaining available for anything we might need, what more can you have from life, if a friend behaves like that.
I usually never write many things, but when I feel like talking and saying something, not even Hulk can stop me.
Sorry for the digression.
Bye everyone and be good.
Carlo eats Spaghetti.

Carlo your words are too kind. As always, and your actions even more so. One of the most important things I have gotten from this Forum is your friendship. For this I am very grateful. Now how about some more pictures of those Leoncini specials! Also because you are very smart, who's Ducati is this, and name the mechanic in the picture. Lou

Dearest Lou, your friendship is unquestionable, like many members of our forum, intelligent is a very important word, my father, in peace be, told me when I went to school, that every now and then I had to open the backpack where the books and notebooks were, to give them the chance to air, let them dry, on top there was the mushroom and the moss.
The one on the motorbike is Umberto Masetti World Champion with the Gilera.

You look at the number on his bike......heeeeeee

I don't know who owns the yellow Ducati

Hi Lou.... Did some digging and found it probably belonged to Mauro Piano. He won a few Championships in Italy early 80's. Found the original post on Facebook and he mentioned selling it on to Germany. Some other familiar names on this list.

Is that a swingarm I've never seen before?

One easy hint is the tiny piston is from the 6 cylinder Honda on the bench in the rear! The late great Knobby Clark. Lou

you're right, without glasses it seemed to me like the open engine of the Gilera, I have to say that Masetti has an incredible resemblance to Klark

Working on the clutch install, I'll take some pictures tomorrow. I did put in a tank vent that I bought from Motociccli Veloce. They are great to deal with. It's a pretty straightforward install. I will add some sealant when it's permanently installed. I used the special coat hanger tool (lol) to install the nut on the inside. Lou

Just a quick post to give everyone a small laugh. Since I hadn't worked on, or even looked at this bike for two years, I forgot a few things. As I was wiring the bike the last thing to do was connect the starter. I removed the lower fairing, and accumulated all my tools and terminal for the last wire. I put a few pads on the cold concrete floor as I've been working on this bike on the ground. Got my fat old body on the ground slowly looked under the motor, ready to cut the wire to length. I blinked a few times, then started to laugh. No starter! It was removed. Looked some more and realized both side covers had no bolts holding them on and the idler pulleys were missing the circlips! Totally forgot about what still needed to be done. I have also realized it is a wet clutch motor not a dry clutch, as the seller stated. With the motor came later dry clutch parts so I made the mistake of assuming it was correct. Not a big deal. Now I can use my last NCR dry clutch. Really makes this a very correct replica. Interestingly, I had bought these parts from a friend in Canada. Supposedly these parts were from the estate of Fran McDermott, a moderator and frequent poster on the Forum. Not to mention a really nice person and friend. I bought the NCR clutch from Fran many years prior to getting the parts to build this bike, so I feel good putting the clutch on this particular machine. As I mentioned to our friend Paul in Canada. This bike is a bit of a tribute to Fran. Always remembered. Lou

Your engine discoveries remind me of when I started an engine without the swingarm pin installed. Saw the oil on the floor and was on my way to having a myocardial infarction, then realized what was going on. We all have our moments.
